Is your child good in creative writing?
The Budding Authors Program is our endeavour to encourage more and more children to express through writing. The child is the father of man. A child’s writing can change the world for the better. Our services are priced at a very reasonable cost for children and young authors. We conduct a story-writing competition in September-October every year and announce the winners on Children’s Day (14th November). The winners are felicitated and trophies are given away. In 2022, we had more 500 entries from different parts of the world. The stories of the winners and runners-up were published as six collections of short stories. We have published more than 50 child authors as on date.

Reading develops critical and creative thinking in kids. At I Am An Author, we have done extensive research in designing our books to develop reading skills in kids. Our stories for each reading level aim at inculcating a love for reading in our young audience.
- Our books are printed in a reader-friendly font size and style.
- To encourage students to read, our books are adorned with beautiful illustrations by award-winning authors who both write and illustrate.
- Many of our books are authored by kids! So they strike a chord with kids easily.
- Our books do not portray any kind of violence (even in the slightest form), immoral behavior, or bad words.
- We are consciously against misogyny, and our books spread knowledge and values through engaging stories without being preachy.
Our books are designed for four reading levels:
STAGE 1: THE PRE-READER SERIES (TYPICALLY FROM 6 MONTHS TO 6 YEARS OF AGE)
Books in this category are for those kids who have just started to learn to read. These books are filled with pictures and simple words. Pre-readers need assistance from adults so that they do not get frustrated with the reading activity.
STAGE 2: THE EARLY READER (TYPICALLY FROM 3 TO 7 YEARS OF AGE)
In our opinion, this stage is the most important as this stage shapes the child’s perception about books. Our Early Reader Series books are short stories in interesting titles to arouse curiosity in the child. The tales are short enough to not bore them and full of colourful illustrations to help in comprehension.
STAGE 3: THE PROGRESSIVE READER (TYPICALLY FROM 7 TO 9 YEARS OF AGE)
During this stage, children are beginning to read with increasing fluency. The Progressive Reader Series books are designed keeping this in mind but incorporating pictures to break the monotony of plain text. Children’s attention spans at this stage are slightly more and our stories are a bit longer than the Early Reader books to aid in developing the attention span further.
STAGE 4: THE FLUENT READER (TYPICALLY FROM 9 TO 15 YEARS OF AGE)
During this phase of the reading development process, reading is used to gain new knowledge, to experience new feelings, to acquire new attitudes and to explore issues from multiple perspectives. Readers get accustomed to reading text-filled books. However, to keep kids engaged in books in a fully digital world, our Fluent Reader Series books cover a range of topics and include not just fiction, thriller and drama but also books that satisfy the urge to acquire knowledge that is not academics related.
