SPIRALUP TO I AM AN AUTHOR: OUR JOURNEY
Hi, I am Sundari Ganapathy, the founder of I Am An Author and the SEAL program. If your search through the vast ocean of the internet brought you to I Am An Author, I thought you should know a bit about how I started off what I did!
I am an architect from SAP, Anna University, and after earning my MTech from IIT Madras, I ventured into the software industry. As my favourite quote from Forrest Gump goes, “Life is but a box of chocolates! You never know what you’re gonna get!” I spent a few years strolling about in the software industry with big corporates like CSC (then Covansys) and Cognizant. After a brief stint abroad, a roller coaster eventually led me to co-found SpiralUp Solutions Pvt. Ltd., a company offering copyediting services to international publishers.
Our vision and mission
We are passionate about the English language, and our vision is to contribute to both English literature and language learning. What is the point in speaking or writing if what we say or write is rocket science to our audience? Effective communication requires clarity, and it happens only when one can get their point across. Our mission is to help the world communicate effectively in English, whether in writing or speaking.
“I Am An Author” is born
Time flies, they say. It truly does. By 2020, SpiralUp had edited millions of pages for international scholarly publications. After a decade working behind the scenes in the publishing industry, I had a moment of profound self-realization in 2020. Why hadn't we aspired to become like the powerhouses we edited for? This led to the creation of “I Am An Author”. Under the umbrella of Edisun Consulting Services, “I Am An Author”, a publishing imprint, was launched on November 6, 2020.
At “I Am An Author”, we create and publish our own books, primarily children's literature, and we also act as a platform helping debut authors publish their books. We have published over 250 books across various genres, and we are among the few still dedicated to publishing, despite the fierce competition from social media platforms like YouTube and Instagram, which have made the publishing industry less lucrative.

THE SEAL PROGRAM
Having been in the publishing industry for over a decade, we had built a team with strong English skills, and we set out to help others, especially children, learn English the right way. The SEAL Program was thus born. From Spoken English, Business English to IELTS,TOEFL and PTE prep, we guide students of all age groups and adults through our online platform and offline programs. “Today’s readers are tomorrow’s leaders” - A number of our programs focus on rekindling the love of reading in both children and adults.
